Love this entire series! It's great to read a christian book that has a good story behind it. You get to experience everything through the eyes of a teenage girl and the ups and downs of life and finding love.

I read these books as a teen, and have now purchased the new omnibus set for one of my students. Christy Miller is an average American teen girl, and these books tell the story of the development of her identity as she explores her faith, relationships, and what it means to be a woman. Books 4-6 are some of the most fun, as the characters get fleshed out and the romantic tension between Christy and Todd escalates. The books are certainly Christian-focused, but they leave a lot of room for discussion of tough issues. I strongly recommend these for middle school girls who want to read about romance but aren't ready for the sometimes graphic world of YA.

I'm a thirty something lady but God is really speaking to me thru the development of the Christy character beginning with the age 14. God bless you Robin; so cool to see God move thru the gifts of People.

Great book for teen girls. Christy's struggles are common to many girls and her attempts to respond in godly manner (though she fails at times) will be an encouragement to young readers.

Although I am an adult, I've enjoyed all the Christy Miller stories. Christy is the sort of person I would have loved to have had for a friend during high school, and I think many girls can relate to her. The pacing of the stories is sometimes a little slow, and the supporting characters, especially Christy's parents, should have been much better developed. Still, the stories are so enjoyable they are well worth reading.

Gift for a young lady that helped us serve dinner every Wednesday night at our church's Family Night.

I'm not a teenager but I am young at heart and I highly recommend this series!You just fall in love with the main character Christy and you hope that your daughter or grand daughter might "live" like Christy with her values.

Robin Jones Gunn is my favorite author. The Christy Miller series is "must read" literature for all teenaged girls and their moms. I just wish I could have had this resource when my girls were teenagers!

While there are some typos and problems with some of the example, I like this book so much that I bought a few copies that I keep in different places, plus have one in my car at all times. I also like that a PDF of the book is available as part of the book on the included CD. The only problem in recent years is that the installer for everything on the CD will not run on 64 bit systems, but the individual programs can have the setup run by going directly to the folder for the program.On a sad note, I found out that Cary Prauge passed away in 2014. I had hoped to visit him and his company someday since they are sort of near by where I am in MA.

This is one of the better technical "how to" books out there. It covers the majority of what a novice to an advanced intermediate Access developer would want to know about Access 2003. However, like so many technical books these days there are problems.In my mind the most significant problem is the lack of a framework in which to put all that information. For example,while the overview in the beginning describes the purpose for the individual chapters on reports, forms, tables, etc. it doesn't describe the overall relationships between these components or why you would want or need to use one over the other.Also, there are mistakes in the examples which particularly for a beginner can be frustrating. The book comes with a CD containing various databases to be used with the examples. In some cases, the example being referenced doesn't even exist on the CD. The index is also a disappointment as many times I had to just page through the book to find the information I wanted. But then, that seems to be a common failing of technical books in general.I do like the fact that the first four chapters are devoted to understanding data constructs in a relational database. And what's presented there pretty much jives with my experience - as a professional software engineer I've had a fair amount. After all, if you don't get the data right, you're going to have problems regardless of how elegantly you display or report it.Overall I would recommend this book as a good resource for developers who want to learn the capabilities that MS Access 2003 provides right out of the box. Those of you who already have a fair amount of experience and want to produce a professional Access application will need to learn at least Visual Basic for Applications in addition to the information that's in this book.

Given complexity and depth of an application like Access, there is no way to "know it all", nor to teach it all. Access 2003 Bible does a good job providing practical help on mainstream database programming and giving useful hints when it comes to very special requirements.So far, the book proved adequate even in directing focus to those little things that -because of very infrequent use- slip memory easily.When programming, the Access 2003 Bible is a helpful companion that should have its place next to the PC (Often it takes a bit time to find the optimal solution in the text, but if improvements were easily created, books like this would not sell.) In general it is worth its money, regardless to the skill level of the user.

I think this is a great book! I not only have one for home (for my personal use) -- but, also have one at work for my work use.I have to work with databases that were created well before I arrived and sometimes it is difficult to figure out what someone else has done. This book has enabled me to work efficiently and capably in my role. Also, everyone is always coming in and asking how to do something in the database and if it is something I do not readily know, I am able to look it up quickly and have an answer to solve a database problem. The CD that comes with it sure makes searching by key words amazingly fast! Thanks for such a great product!

It's not the easiest read, but if you're somewhat computer savvy and have an inkling as to what databases are all about; then this is the perfect book to have in your library. The companion cd and tutorials provide great practice in getting started with your first database. I've always found "The Bible" series to be the only resource I look to when I'm new to a program. I highly recommend this book.

This book was a great tool to learn Access. I have bought two other books that professed to be an easy way to learn Access and this book is the only one that was able to deliver. It was easy to follow, and the examples in the CDROM were excellent and led to achieving a good working knowledge of the program. I am familiar with most Microsoft Office programs, but I couldn't get a good understanding of Access until I used this book.

It's hard to find a good St. Patrick's Day book for preschool story times. Most St. Patricks Day books are too wordy or have a religious theme. I used this with day care story times and it was a hit.

This was a cute book - I started a tradition of buying a book for each holiday to read with my daughter and this was our St. Patrick's day selection. I like it enough but it's definitely not one of our favorites.

Very cute book. There aren't a lot of books for little little kids for Saint Patrick's day. this one is silly and fun and my son (11 months) is very entertained by it.

Having seen the kickstarter for this book and the author's website I was excited for this book. Unfortunately the majority of the pictures are of Vivian with the other dog Lulu, as shown in 'image 2' in the product description. Lulu isn't a small enough dog to reinforce the giant dachshund illusion. The pictures of Vivian with her owner (walking together, snuggled on the couch etc) that appear on his other sites aren't in this book so again, aside from a very few pictures, the enormous dog perspective doesn't really work. Vivian is very cute and dachshund fanatics will enjoy this book but I was disappointed.

OMG! OMG... I was undecided if getting one more dog book or not.. since a have a Wiener dog myself, I decided to buy it. And.. OMG OMG what a beautiful story. I would love to tell you more about it but I will kill the beauty of having this book. This book goes both ways for a human and the life of a pet. Moving to a different place brings memories and emptiness for the missing pieces that were left behind. Vivian gave us a message. I invite you to find it. Great Story. I totally recommended

I have long been a reader of Franz Wright and believed him to be one of the freshest, most interesting poets currently writing in English. This book, however, is astonishing. It is lyrically beautiful, emotionally straightforward, deeply intelligent poetry. There is not a line in the book that sounds mannered or false or leans solely on the beauty of language for its effects. These are articulate reflections on mortality, loss and human vulnerability that will be still be read two hundred years from now. While it seems some current poetry seeks to shock or confound with its images, or else has grown hopelessly simplistic in an effort to draw audiences back to reading poetry, these are poems that point us in the direction poetry should be moving. They are modern yet readable, raw and vivid at times, yet never luridly and gratuitously shocking, and they are guided throughout by a smart and penetrating but never mawkish compassion. No self-pity here, just deep understanding of what it means to be a mortal human--the reason we read poetry to begin with. It would be reductive to isolate a few sample lines here so I won't. I would place this book on a shelf among a few dozen others everyone should read.

This is my first encounter with Franz Wright. I sense that it would have been better to be introduced to him through an earlier book. F -- the title is the sixth letter of the alphabet, and when Wright comes across it in an old disintegrating notebook he wonders whether the capital letter stands for his name or his grade in life -- is a disorienting, discomfiting, bitter and anguished jeremiad. It reflects a man whose life, at least in the main, has not been happy, one who has been visited with insanity, illness, and drugs. It is intensely personal and often inscrutable. Reading it was something like walking along a city street and being accosted, suddenly, by a street corner preacher haranguing passersby with garbled threats of doom and visions of glory. The passion is manifest, but the message is impenetrable.F is divided into three parts. The first contains fifteen pieces, seven in the form and format of free verse and eight being short pieces of prose. With the exception of two pieces, I found the contents of Part I without meaning or merit. I was projecting a two-star Amazon assessment. Part II, entitled "Entries of the Cell", is eighteen pages long; it is a mélange of prose and verse and what are perhaps jottings in a journal. It reveals enough of the author's disturbed world to engender a sense of empathy and to begin sweeping into one pile the shards from Part I. Part III contains seventeen pieces, again roughly divided between free verse and short pieces of prose. About half of these pieces touched me sufficiently to mark them to return to in the future. Perhaps by Part III I was better prepared for the weirdness of Wright's world or perhaps its pieces are simply better and less intractably personal.Articulating my response to F is proving difficult. Reading it is to encounter one man's existential life in the raw, unmediated by any of the trappings of civilization. In the words of one of the pieces ("Rain in Waltham"),"* * * I am having trouble dealingwith this most recent illustrationof the impersonal, endlessly patientindifference of the universe"

The poems "Elderly Couple," "Four Semi-Dreamt Poems," "Lamp," "Panhandler," "Spell," "To," "Crumpled-Up Note Blowing Away," "Four in the Morning," "Nativity," "Whispered Ceremony," and "Peach Tree," to name a few, never stale. Sorprendente el camino recorrido por Nabeel para llegar a la verdad. Nos muestra por dentro el pensamiento musulman y nos ayuda a comprender su comportamiento.

Lo leí en solo dos días, pues la narración es apasionante. Excelente apologetica abordada. Muy recomendable. Cristianos y no cristianos deben leerlo.
