Having walked the Camino, I couldn't help but wonder how they would get through some of the paths with a wheelchair but the Camino did it's magic and provided. I was also impressed with the spiritual journey. Part of the lessons of the Camino involves letting go and trusting, surrendering to the way. Patrick does a great job of epitomizing this lesson that his friend, Justin, has already learned. I'm still learning to grow in trust each time I hike the Camino. Strongly recommended to those who have and have not walked The Way of Saint James.

I've walk the Camino & I couldn't watch your trailer without crying(which I have watched many many times now) so I was counting down the days for your book release. To read the thoughts of Justin and Patrick during their Camino Journey is a gift. I was so intrigued! Having been at Point Loma the same years as Justin and knowing who he is plus having done a portion of the Camino myself, made this story so real. The vulnerability of them both gives courage to readers who want to go deeper still. I appreciate the new view of a Sabbath. I had the wonderful privilege of hearing these men speak at our church. I couldn't wait to read the book and learn more about their adventure. For me this book was a great read, but so much more.I found it emotional from the very beginning. It's such a good story of love between two friends that has lasted a life time. The commitment that few are willing to make along with the trip and challenge of a life time. This is a must read. I can't wait for the Documentary to come out November 2nd.

What an amazing book! I couldn't put it down and read it all in one long enjoyable sitting. It was so inspiring, heartfelt, honest, insightful, amazing and beautiful. Having done the Camino myself makes me appreciate it even more, although everybody can appreciate the power of their friendship. It was so touching and they both really put themselves out there in their rawest and most vulnerable ways. You can't help but laugh, cry and embrace their story. A fantastically enjoyable and emotional read.

A truly enjoyable, inspiring book that kept me reading long into the night. To see two friends, Justin and Patrick, stay committed to each other through the years is so refreshing. I cried more than once as these guys showed such love and gentleness with each other, their wives, and kids at each stage of their lives. The journey across the Camino was mind boggling, but they were committed to the last mile to make it happen. Then when they needed help, total strangers saw the need and came to their aid. This has moved me to reach out in my own life to help others. I give this book 5 stars and look so forward to the movie!!

John Taylor covers a large span of music evolution in this autobiography of his life and that of Duran Duran, the rock group in which he still performs. It is that diverse, evolving story that speaks volumes for the success he has achieved. Yes, the audience may change, but the "real" audience has evolved with his talent and musical styles over the years.Taylor knows how to grab an audience. Right from the beginning, the reader is charged from the opening account of a concert performance in which the song "Tel Aviv" was played and Taylor confesses to being scared out of his mind at the almost animal atmosphere of the screaming, violent crowd. How does one play and what is it about the music that creates such a wild response to the group's music?We are then led back even further to the very start of his life, through his education, interest in music at first without any thought about actually becoming a rock star, and more. The terrific part of this next section is that he chronicles how the music evolved from simple chord music on acoustic guitar through the time of the Beatles through to rock music...to punk rock...., etc. For those who are older, it will bring back some great memories; for those who are younger, it might make them curious to check out the "older" music.Then comes the beginning Duran, Duran, playing as introductory music for other more famous singers and bands....then comes evolving success. Plenty of unknown and fascinating details follow about different and better instruments that were used, as well as how the other band members adapted, left, and joined, leading up to the present band members. There's a very riveting section on how drugs and booze almost blew the whole success chance out the window and a very painful part of how it broke him down. Fortunately, it didn't end there...Absolutely great biography about a singer, composer, producer and band leader who clearly is "passionate" beyond belief about his art. Duran Duran was - and still is - my favorite band of all time, so of course I was interested in reading a book about my favorite band member. Wow. What we make up and believe happens "behind the scenes" when you are a young teenager is so not reality. John Taylor's account of his childhood years, then taking the reader through the band's beginnings, through the band's success and fame, to where he is today - all through his eyes - is absolutely wonderful. He writes with such courage, selflessness, down-to-earth raw candor that I have an entirely new type of respect for him (and the rest of the band). I truly appreciate him for writing his story and the powerful message it could bring to those "up and coming" today in the music/entertainment industry today. His words offer inspiration, hope, and of what it takes to be successful - hard work. Thank you, John, for writing your story ... I appreciate and respect you even more now at "40 something" years than I ever have. May you and your family continue to have peace and joy in your life.

My interest in Duran Duran was mainly rooted in their earlier dance tracks. They had a style that was edgier than most of the other bands from the new romantic and synth pop bands of the era.This book is the right balance between road stories, band history, personal growth and sex drugs and rock and roll. I bought it on a whim and listened to their musical output while reading it. Although Mr. Taylor made some of the same poor choices that instant fame and money brought to many of his peers, at least he owns them and there is little blame on circumstances or other people. Many of these rock royalty bios and autobiographies leave a bad taste at the end and possibly the need for a long shower! This one, however, left me feeling a great deal of respect for the author. He seems open and honest and that makes for a great read and a good life.

I don't feel compelled to write reviews very often. But I do tonight. Just turned my tablet off, having finished my kindle version of this book, got out of bed, it's close to midnight, but yes. I like to think not. I can hear a most authentic voice coming out of these pages - of a young man's rise to stardom and him getting totally lost. Oh so lost. The lovely part is this - there IS someone watching over us from above or perhaps it was Mom Jean's prayers that finally came through and helped him pull out of it all. This is a fantastic story how a lost soul finds peace. Despite of stardom. For those of us who has "followed" JT for many years, since he was plastered on our walls and up until now when we all have grey hairs and a few more wrinkles - well, it's been a blast to hear his voice coming through and getting to know him a little better in these pages. Well done John - that was a very good read.

As a teen in the 80s, I was "in love" with John Taylor and pretty much most of the band as most young girls were. I never knew about his battles and looking back, it amazes me at all that happened but how well the publicity managers did their jobs. It's hard to imagine how he could have made it through so much, and at times, I found myself asking, "how is he even still here?" Thankfully...he is and sometimes you just know that things happen for a reason that we cannot begin to understand yet our lives play out day by day to the tune of a play written out long before we drew a first breath. Yes, JT, you are right where you are meant to be and thanks for sharing your story so honestly and openly. It helps the teen in me who drove 5hrs to see your final 2016 US date in Durant realize that yes, he and the guys are human. There are songs on Paper Gods that speak to me, especially Pressure Off as I deal with my mom's third battle with a rare form of cancer that we know, ultimately, will win the war in this life, but not the next. Thanks for helping me through my own battles, and for always being there when I turn on my playlist.

He has served as president of the Fishing Outfitters Association of Montana and chairman of both the Northern Plains Resource Council and Western Organization of Resource Councils. This third edition, published in 2007, could benefit from a revision. The book is informative and contains good information on accessing Park waters, but needs updating. I appreciated the maps (especially the scale to determine distance!). This made locating and moving easy and with more than 100 waterways packed into this book, the maps are worthwhile. This book would also benefit from the inclusion of color photos, including specific flies. This lightweight paperback version is excellent in a pack and adds almost no weight. Good book, but needs just a little love.

The book contains information most anglers will need to fish the various bodies of water in the park. Great maps, great tips, and excellent break downs on each stretch of water. Definitely something that will be kept in my pack when I'm on vacation in the park this summer.

I have 5 Yellowstone fly fishing guide books. This one is almost certainly the BEST if you are looking for basic information of where to go; how to get there; and what to expect from each piece of water.

While enrolled in a college course in "nuclear chemistry" I used the 1982 hardcover edition of this book that was published by Halsted Press, a division of John Wiley & Sons of New York. While an unexpected but positive financial opportunity caused me to cancel my semester of study midway through, I read and worked with Dr. Arnikar's book long enough to appreciate it.Dr. Hari Jeevan Arnikar is Professor Emeritus in Chemistry at the University of Poona and has had wide research experience. After receiving his Ph.D. from the Banaras Hindu University, he worked in the laboratories of the College de France, in Paris and obtained his Dr.es-Sc. Later, he worked as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Arnikar has also been a consultant to UNESCO in the Pilot Project for the Teaching of Chemistry in S.E. Asia, Bangkok.As the Amazon.com description above mentions, this book presents theories of nuclear structure and stability, types of radioactivity and nuclear reactions, including fission and fusion, principles of nuclear reactor and elements of radiation chemistry. Also, typical applications of isotopes and nuclear radiation in research, medicine, and industry are described often with examples drawn from the author's work.One of the things I liked about this book was that physical concepts, often left out in books for chemists (and students), are presented here clearly in small steps to help in the understanding of the material in question. I found this to be a very positive element in favor of the book and the author's approach. In addition, I found that numerous examples were worked out with the same objective. This makes for a book that one may go to easily at some future point for review and, therefore, belongs on the shelf of concerned students and professionals alike.It is worth noting too, that SI units are used in general in this book along with some notes explaining these units (and their cgs equivalents). Selected problems with answers are found at the end of each chapter.I believe this book was originally intended to meet the needs of advanced undergraduates and beginning Graduate students of both Indian and American universities offering nuclear and radiation chemistry. It also, in my view, serves as an introduction to more advanced books on the subject of nuclear chemistry. (Chapterwise references and a fairly comprehensive bibliography are provided as a guide for further study too.)Having said all this, the book is not without its present day shortcomings. First, it was written and published almost thirty years ago so it cannot speak to recent developments and advances in the field of nuclear chemistry. (Still, chapter 6 on nuclear fission and chapter 7 on nuclear reactors hold up well in my view and are nicely presented.) Another slight problem some may have with this book is that while it is written clearly, it is written for an academic audience. Mature thinking students and other similiar individuals should not have a problem with this but it is not a book for the general reader.I recommend this book be in the library of students, teachers, and those whose occupation involves the physical sciences and engineering -- especially with nuclear overtones. I found it to be a very useful book to turn to when one desires a straightforward explanation on some question or topic involving nuclear chemistry. I cannot say if Dr. Arnikar is still with us, but he deserves credit for writing a useful text on the subject that is accessible to many readers.

I am a fan of Robert G. Cooper's Stage Gate (TM) NPD process. I was excited to read his new publication of this book. He did not disappoint! For most companies, NPD is a complicated series of trials and errors harmed by systematic procrastination, low quality front-end work resulting costly, poorly adopted internal and external products doomed to fail immediately after launch. After reading and applying these principles the mystery of NPD becomes corporate common sense and innovation becomes a strategic ingredient to the overall mission of the growing company.

This is a good starter book for explaining what stage gate is, how it is being implemented today and what benefits that can be gained from it. Every R&D professional should at least know the basics about this system and this book lets you do that.
